The ancient Indian science of yoga places great emphasis on learning and understanding the subtle mechanics of the chakras. In the ancient science of pranayama (the yoga of conscious breathing), various methods to identify the presence of the movement of energy in the body are prescribed. By mastering these techniques, Yogis can accomplish much by using the least possible amount of energy.
In this program, we will be discussing the subtle aspects of the chakra centers and how they interact with and enhance or impede local and systemic health of the human body. The nervous and circulatory systems are certainly vehicles to move physical impulses and blood, however the messages of the chakra system, while subtle, are no less essential in their affect on holistic health.
In thinking about and examining the location and shape of the chakra system as described in literature pertaining to chakras, we will overlap this system onto the map of human body’s anatomy in an effort to teach children in a fun, active, and creative way how the two systems work together to keep us healthy.

In this program, children are going to become acquainted with people and children who dress differently, look differently, and even speak differently than themselves. They will learn many things about the world and the people and children just like themselves that inhabit it. This kind of exposure is boundless - the more we can show diversity to children in a fun and adventurous way, the more the values of curiosity, acceptance and unity are inculcated in them from a very young age, resulting in well-rounded adults who respect people, art, history and different cultures.
One World will introduce children to new foods, exotic animals, songs, stories, dance and rhymes, and amazing and sometimes bizarre traditions from all over the world. There are lots of surprises along the way that, in our experience, makes this an unforgettable experience for our little world travelers!
This program could be what inspires a child to become a Japanese chef, a Russian language teacher, or even an architect after seeing the amazing works of Gaudi in Barcelona! We will learn to speak words from many different languages, make art inspired by world locations, and even learn to cook ethnic foods. At the end of each country visit, we will reinforce their learning with a yoga class in the theme of each country.

A growing number of studies are finding that specialized yoga programs can benefit youth who have experienced trauma.
The core elements of yoga practice, such as breath work, postures, and meditation, help to equip youth with skills to handle stress and trauma-responses.
A trauma-informed yoga practice can strengthen the mind and body connection, helping to reduce overstimulation and reactivity, and encourage relaxation. Yoga can help give youth the power to reclaim control of their bodies and experiences.
