"The more that you read, the more things you will know.
The more you learn, the more places you’ll go".
Dr. Seuss
Storytelling
One way we spend time between activities in camp is to encourage the children to tell their own stories - whether it is a song, or a rhyme, or story. Studies suggest that there are positive effects in intellectual, social and emotional development of children who are encouraged to use storytelling.
Cognitive Calisthenics
Cognitive Calisthenics is a proprietary blend of physical and mental activities to help children release stress, expend excess energy and focus the mind, all with the end goal of learning enhancement. These fun activities integrate a 3-pronged approach to addressing children's physical, cognitive, and nutritional needs and are designed to engage the mind and optimize communication between and within the two hemispheres of the brain. An important component of the program is the individualized guidelines that students receive so behavioral improvement can continue within the family at home.
